Tiny butt splice connectors - 360 - 09-23-2024

My front roller shade is giving me fits again and I’m running out of wire real estate on the motor end.  Figured I could use a tiny butt splice connector but everything I have is way too big as these wires on that motor are tiny.  Any suggestions on the best way to add some wire?

What about these, used by alarm companies?

This type of connector works quite well in tight confinement areas. Low temp heat shrink and solder connectors.

You just need a hot air gun. This particular set has 26 gauge wire connectors. The heat shrink closes down before the solder flows, so it helps hold everything in place when the solder does flow.

If you have at least one inch of wire left i personally would use spade connectors. This way when or if you need to change something out you can just unplug it and plug a new one in.

I use those with good results.

Solder and heat shrink another piece of wire on the motor end then you can start over.
