Rear Slide limit switch locations -

Afternoon everyone. Rear slide hwh board went dark last week. Working through the system systematically. All fuses and relays check good, no power going to the solenoids, jumping 12 volts to the solenoids will allow the slide to operate. No power going to the lock unlock solenoids either however the rear lock has already been bypassed. Front slide works great. Seems to be a board issue at this time but wanted to ensure the limit switches are not playing a part. Disassembled the bed and checked the extend limit switch easy, however the retract limit switch is MIA. Anyone knows where it's hiding? Picture of my limit switch is attached. Thanks everyone!

I have no idea as my coach doesn't have slides, however, I'm in anchorage and have no problems heading out to the valley if you need help.

Did a bit more homework- seems we have a model that uses the magnetic disc's in the skin of the slide to detect when the slide is retracted near the hwh locking pins. That's why there is only 1 limit switch under the bed. Nice rabbit hole but no help on getting power to the board.
I am about to just bypass the brain board for the rear slide, finish bypassing and removing the locking pins and hook the extend / retact 3 way switch directly to the correct relay on the logic board to apply power to the solenoids. Switching the key will still deinflate/ inflate the slides. Got to incorporate the limit switches down stream from to relay to the solenoids. Hopefully you all can read the draft drawing of the system!

my 02 has dime sized rare earth magnets glued to the top of the slide next to the hole the pin goes in. if they come off, the pins will not come down. there is one on each side of the slide.

Thanks Tom. It seems the locking pins are not the culprit preventing power going to the room 2 logic board and I will remove the locks from the slide altogether as Newell has suggested for some years now - just to simplify the system and prevent future leaks or failures. As for the (assumed) bad logic board - powering the relays directly off the three way switch for solenoid activation seems to be the way to go over shipping the logic board down to hwh for repair which I am sure will cost much mulla, if they are even willing to repair it in the first place.
I will try to keep you all informed with pictures ect. for future folks encountering the same issues.

I am following this with much interest and agree these old logic boards and components are quickly becoming obsolete. I think the system can be simplified, would be nice to see a retrofit of the system with simple components.

I’m assuming that these are the same types of HWH slides I have in my coach… lol, probably not… In the HWH panel I removed EVERY single fuse (have to unscrew the top smaller screws so that the boards will tilt out(if they don’t tilt out only you are doing more work than needed), cleaned, put dielectric grease (this is debatable) and checked continuity. That solved a LOT of the issues… please keep us in the loop here! The other thought was that once you get electric to the slide for sure I had to reset the hydraulic pressure ‘knob’ in the front bay so just enough pressure was applied to get the rear to slide out (since it is the farthest away), the front takes care of itself.
Another thought is to have the engine running and have GREAT engine batteries - the slides run on the ENGINE batts (at least mine do…)

"No two Newells are the same" Haven't we all been bitten by this at some time?
My slides run off the house batteries. I thought otherwise until I disconnected all battery power to clean the connectors on (almost) every battery power and ground.
I still start the engine and make sure I'm in travel mode and at the correct ride height before I move my slides.

Yes Hank I agree no two the same, wish that there was some standardization in the electrical and plumbing department. Sometime it looks the same in other coaches till you dig deeper and think what the heck.

So we have a bit of creativity at the factory giving coach to coach variance, and then another 20 years of yahoos like us "improving" things. I just look at it as a mental exercise, trying to sort it all out. It's a Forest Gump thing, you never know what you are going to get.
One of the best things I did was to disconnect all the big positive cables on both the house and chassis side, and then ring them out. They did not go where I always assumed they did. I labeled each end to help me later.
