Starlink mounting - pairodice - 01-23-2025

I put my Starlink under the fiberglass cap in front of the coach and am not getting a signal - has anyone else tried this and succeeded?

Apparently there is either too much wood/fiberglass or, possibly, some type of metal shielding/insulation in the upper part of the cap that is blocking transmission. There are NO trees/things blocking the dish signal and everything is connected correctly.
To test I put the dishy outside and it worked fine. Then I placed the dishy back into the upper cabinet - nada, no signal. Then I put the dishy in the windshield and it did not respond from there either. Maybe I'm just pointed completely the wrong way - once we get up/going I will point the coach in a good direction (using the app) and try it in both places again. It would be very convenient if the Starlink sat would work from the upper section in the fiberglass cap, then I could just leave it there rather than drilling more holes in the roof... I know this would be limited in some areas as trees or other obstacles might block the signal...

Inside the coach is not a good idea in my opinion you're inside a ferrite shield surrounded by metal and thick fiberglass. We put ours on top of the solar panels used in existing hole in the roof for which all the old satellite cables went. Bought the ethernet connection for the dish on Amazon and ran that down to a router inside the bus.
