Alternator tensioner setup
#11

Yachts,

Can you look at the drive pulley and post the part number? I have two conflicting numbers right now, and I am trying to verify.

thanks

Richard, the drive pulley on my 99 is 23520369. The casting is hard to read, especially the 3s. Chappell

Did you guys ever get a parts list together for this retrofit pulley tensioner system? My alternator pulley is worn out and EATING belts like crazy. I’ll make a separate post for the part number for the larger pulley for a temp fix...

Adrian, the larger pulley is an effective fix, and far less costly and involved than converting to serpentine

Alternate Fix, when I had our 1996 my DD mechanic found a belt that fit the dual belt set but was actually one belt, two bonded together.  After I put it on I never had an issue.  Don't have the part # all that info went with the coach

Thanks Steve, I originally had the double V belt but it kept eating the center piece that held the two belts together and then would eat each of the belts! It was very hungry... I recently figured out that the real problem was that the alternator was out of alignment with the engine and the A/C compressor - this was the real cause of the issue and once that was corrected it seems to be doing fine. Ask me again in a few thousand miles...

Dennis,

If you will put alternator AND pulley into the search engine you will get a list to study on what people have done. The key to the searches is the use of the operative AND between the terms. It must be in all caps.
