I’m reworking the entertainment center and dash stereo in my coach and no longer need to switch between sources for the overhead speakers. I removed and rewired the three relays above the driver seat that switch between the receiver and dash head units for the speakers, but not sure what this last relay is for…. does anybody know?

I have never figured out that relay. My best guess it it powers the shore line light indicator in the warning light panel.

That relay on our coach made noise as it has a 120ac coil so I unplugged it and never notice anything changing.

I am gonna take a shot in the dark.  Note that it’s been a long time since I looked at it on 653 But here goes…

The front surround sound speakers were connected to the AV receiver located in console above driver.    AND the speakers were connected to the radio in the dash.  There was a rigged up situation where the relays figured out the AV receiver was turned on and the speakers connected to it.  But when the AV receiver was turned off…the speakers were connected to the radio. 

I suspect that this relay was somehow associated with this speaker setup.  On 653 the system was unreliable…I forget what the exact symptom was…but it was not a positive.  .  In the end, I installed dedicated speakers to the dash radio and bypassed the relay situation in the panel above the drivers window.

Hope this helps (or at least triggers someone’s memory about the exact purpose).

Thanks for all the replies!  It doesn’t seem to hurt anything so at this point, I’m just going to leave it in place. I’m actually moving the receiver and the TV down to a console fireplace and “televator” where the passenger side couch was located, so I do not need any switching of any kind. The TV will have its own sound bar and the new NAV flatscreen stereo I installed will utilize the old ADS speakers (except the middle).  I really should’ve put some of these upgrades on hold until I could figure out some of the basic air system problems, but I can’t help it!

Richard you were right!!!
It for the shore line light on the dash.  I figured it out when I replaced the bulb in the panel and saw that it was on. I had never seen it before so I reached up and pulled the relay out …..and guess what ….the light turned off
