Weather is weird
#1

I went out today and fired my Aqua-Hot, let it run for about 45 minutes then fired of the Detroit. I let that run for about an hour just to keep things moving over the winter.  while all that was going on i... took a bike out for a ride since it was 49 degrees in anchorage today. I feel bad for all the folks in the south that are stuck with our Alaska weather. That said this mild winter up here has been super nice.

Everything on my bus seems to be functioning properly. Aqua-Hot only ran for about an hour and a half and raised the inside temp from 38 to 47  so looks like it works like it should.

Yeah its been pretty weird for N Florida to get 9 inches of snow with 25-30 mph winds and 17 degree temp. Really put my mini split conversion to the test, it worked but we did have to supplement with the 110v toe kick heaters and we stayed nice and toasty. We never had to fire up the webasto but the heat pump started defrosting about every 15 minutes so it was getting close to using it. One thing that saved our bacon was this 1/4" foam insulation I made for the front windows, it has foil on one side and white backing on the other and good for heat or cold. Another useful tip is this wifi thermostatic switch, it can be programed from your phone and the best part is you get to see what the temp is in the water bay so guys like me who wake up wondering can check it. Jack, I was hoping you'd respond to that. I really do feel bad for all the folks that are having issues all over the south with their heat. Sometimes it happens though. As of today places in Florida have received almost triple the amount of snow than Anchorage Alaska. I think we've got 3 inches so far this year and now its been 40+ and raining for weeks. I have discovered a small leak coming from my center clearance light. I'll have to get some foam gasket and seal that up. Otherwise my bus has faired quite well considering it hasn't spent a winter outside in 6 years. Considering that I'm very thankful for the warmer weather up here. I was fully expecting a normal winter and to have things frozen solid and cause more issues, or at least amplify any smaller ones. Glad everyone down there got to play in some snow, it brings out the inner child in almost everyone. The snowman in Florida was great.
