Good afternoon, I am new to the forum and do not know if this is where I should post this, but I am having issues with my front slide not retracting. I have bus 600 and just had it at Newell for a complete AC remodel. They installed roof airs and took the old bottom units out. While it was there, they did a PM on the entire coach. Needless to say, this was not cheap. I asked them to change every solenoid on the slide system, but Creslie talked me out of it saying he has seen brand new solenoids be bad out of the box and it was a waste of money.
Fast forward to the first time I wanted to use the coach and the front slide acted like it didn't want to come out. I didn't need the room, so I left it in for the weekend. Got home and called my RV mechanic and he came and took a look. This guy has been amazing up until this point. He got the slide out. Said the solenoid was bad but there was also something and I cannot remember what he called it, but it wasn't another solenoid but maybe something to do with the speed sensor that was causing it to move slowly. He claimed to have ordered it and was coming back. That was a month ago and now I cannot get him on the phone or text. The slide is out and will not come back in.
I called Newell and the Guru was out until Monday. I called HWH and they said expect a call back in September. I own 3 Kubota Tractor dealerships and although I am not that mechanical myself, I have 14 technicians working for us. Problem is I have no idea where to start. I am going to make sure the fluid is topped off, but Newell told me to only check it when the slides are in!!! I figure I will add a quart and see if that helps. Worse case I have to drain some if that is not the issue. If I had some directions I could get one of mu techs to start troubleshooting.
The red light comes on when I hit the retract button and the slide tries to move but then the light goes off and nothing happens. You can't even hear the motor trying. The coach is plugged into shore power, it is started and running at high idle so I don't think I have a voltage issue. The lights on the panel inside the driver side compartment show the slide is out, it is unlocked and the floor is down. Which is exactly the position on the slide.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. I only really use the thing during football season and in Louisiana that is a BIG deal.
