I flat towed 3 Jeep GCs and one Liberty. I decided to trailer a few years ago . I now trailer my Jeep GC.

Over the years I've towed the following:
Miata, Jeep Liberty, 4x4 Chevy trucks, Tahoe, Lexus GX470.
Just depends on what size vehicle you want and if you'll be out west (4x4 preferred for exploring) or out east.

Richard… If u are referring to my avatar ,that pic includes the 1978 Newell that I bought in 1997 and sold about a year after buying 316 in 2005. I sold it to the historian at the National RV Museum in Elkhart, IN.

It depends on what your going to do on your trips. I have a long bed F350 4x4 or a short bed F150 that rides smoother, also at times, I tow an enclosed trailer for my wife's car or antique cars that I don't want damaged from being exposed to the environment. I will tell you that it takes more planning for trips with enclosed trailer. I prefer not to disconnect the enclosed trailer, so finding 80' sites are few and far between.
