Recently, a question was posed by a Guru as to the shortest Newell with a slide. Realizing that there are about 15 Newells made since 1989 that I do not have a valid VIN for and therefore don't know the exact length, the shortest Newell with a slide that I am aware of (unless I have a VIN error) is 39' 6". That is a 2015, coach #1505. After that, there are five that I am aware of that are 40' 6":
#616, a 2002 double slide
#652, a 2003 (# of slides unknown)
#724, a 2005 (# of slides unknown)
#748, a 2005 triple slide with a STEERABLE TAG
and #1471, a 2013 (double slide with a STEERABLE TAG)

There was a 1999-2002 model 2 slide that was for sale a few years ago. I believe it was white with maybe red trim?
There might be an old website with the details, I'll try and find it.

Is this the one you are thinking about
#616? That is a 2002 triple slide 40' 6" that is white with burgundy and tan stripes.

That looks like the one I remember but I believe it is a double slide.

There are definitely times we would prefer a 40' with slides. We love our coach but there are many places that we like that cannot accommodate a 47 footer, Mexico being one of them. If you know anyone with a nice coach that has those specs, we might consider a trade but would be hard to let go of our space, comfort and all the amenities. Love the steerable tag and the four slides of our 2005 model plus all the electronics and engines.

thanks, JImmy. Just a little beyond our current budget but appreciate your mentioning it. I don't remember seeing #1471 there in November but I might have overlooked it on purpose! The $$ difference between 2005 and 2013 is significant to say the least.
