I think this question has been asked and answered but I cannot find it.
Has anyone replaced their motorized window blinds? Newell wants north of 1K per window to do these, and I know this is an easy DIY if we can find good vendor.
Not only are my motors getting tired, but the fabric has been stained and has some holes from previous owners. I keep looking at my old shades and cant help but think I need new ones.
So...Does anyone have a good source for the motorized shades?

I called MCD while repairing a shade on a friends Tiffin. Their customer service is very good.

Take a look at avoutlet.com they have very good prices and a lot of different fabrics to choose from. You can even order the shades to be cut to your specification. Look at the left Menu-> Window treatments or even better give them a call.
Good luck.

We are considering replacing our shades and went to MCD. We are interested in their motorized American Duo shades. Are the MCD motorized shades adaptable to the Newell shade system? Can the shade buttons on the Newell control panel control the MCD motorized shades?

I am not sure if the shades can be integrated in your coach.
MCD shades are designed to use with either a wall mounted control or very nice portable remote. They expect to have constant power.
In my case, I had tons of switches that controlled individual shades plus one master all up / down switch. These switches worked by holding the switch up and down. And then (as you know) reverse at the end to get the blackout function.
MCD shades are a one press for up, one press for down. And since the night shade is independent of the day shade, you need a separate button.
I love the MCD shades, but they are not integrated into the coach aesthetic from a control viewpoint. What you could do is to blank out the buttons on your control panels....feed constant voltage to the shades and mount the controls on the wall.

Bill,
Thank you for your comment about the MCD shades. How do you control your MCD shades?

MCD has two options for control both wireless ....One is a wall mounted keypad. It essentially allows you to push one button and have all the day shades go up. (Or down)....same for the night shades.
They also have a TV remote style remote that allows you to choose individual shades to operate.
I have both but I use the wall mounted control pretty much all the time. I have broken my shades into two groups. The galley / salon and the bedroom. Each of these groups have a single wall mounted control.
A picture would help...but I am not at coach right now.
